TCVM Consultation

What is Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM)?

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is a medical system that has been used in China to treat animals for thousands of years. It can be used alone or in conjunction with Western medicine protocols.

Chinese Medicine is based on the Daoist worldview that the body is a microcosm of the larger, surrounding universe. As such, the cosmic laws and forces that govern the external world also govern the body’s internal environment.

TCVM recognizes that animals and people have five major personality traits that influence how we relate to each other and the world around us.

By identifying the element of an animal’s personality, the owner and veterinarian can address possible imbalances the animal may be prone to and make lifestyle and training choices to keep the animal’s health balanced.

Our Approach

Our TCVM services are tailored to the individual needs of each horse, focusing on the root causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms.

By integrating TCVM with conventional veterinary care, we provide a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both acute and chronic conditions, enhancing your horse’s overall health and performance.

Benefits of TCVM

The benefits of incorporating TCVM into your horse’s healthcare regimen are vast. It can improve pain management, enhance recovery from illness and injury, and support overall well-being.

TCVM treatments are particularly beneficial for managing chronic conditions, optimizing performance, and promoting a balanced emotional state.

With our expertise in TCVM, Equine Innovative Medicine offers a unique and effective path to maintaining and enhancing your horse’s health and vitality.
